Confidence: Verified.

The platform spread IS the moat. Duda, Shopify, Squarespace, and Wix all outperform WordPress on CWV because they control hosting, theme architecture, and the asset pipeline. WordPress's 43.44% pass rate is structural, not coincidental — an open ecosystem of low-quality themes, page builders, and plugins compounds page weight. The agency that delivers durable CWV on WordPress (or migrates clients to Astro/Next.js/Hugo) is doing work freelancers cannot replicate. Supersedes the older 44% figure from brief 2 ([[wordpress-cwv-44pct-mobile-2025]]) with more precise per-platform numbers.
