Anti-pattern — a single score out of 100

Summary

Anti-pattern: "Your website grade: 47/100." HubSpot Website Grader / Marketing Grader / AEO Grader; Pointerpro maturity-assessment marketing; agency clones.

Why it fails: Reads as a lead-gen gimmick. HubSpot's own materials describe the score-of-100 + email gate explicitly as a lead-generation mechanism — a low score "created urgency to improve [the] website," and "to get a full report, users submitted their email address," yielding "perfect, pre-qualified leads."

Source: HubSpot's own marketing of its Grader.

Caveat: Vendor-pattern reference, not communication model. The pattern is common but is built for capture, not honesty.

Replace with: A small set of plain tier labels + drivers + visual scale.
