RenoMark display patterns across 12 Ontario renovator sites (sampled 2026-05-24): logo almost always in footer; year + member number almost never shown; logos almost never link to profile
Created 2026-05-24
Site sampling on 2026-05-24 across 12 Ontario renovator sites in Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, Hamilton/Ancaster, Ottawa, and London.
The pattern across the sample
- RenoMark is almost always shown in the footer affiliations strip, rarely above the fold.
- Year and member number are almost never shown — McCarty Squared is the only exception.
- Most logos do not link to the company's renomark.ca profile page. They link to the company homepage or are inert images.
- BBB, Houzz, and local HBA logos are nearly universal companions to the RenoMark logo. HomeStars badges were not directly visible on the homepages sampled but are common in the wider segment.
Confidence: Verified by direct site fetch on 2026-05-24.
Caveat: the 12-site sample was chosen to cover Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, Hamilton/Ancaster, Ottawa, and London. A larger sample would tighten the patterns reported.
Named sites and what each does
- McCarty Squared Inc. (London) — BEST PRACTICE. Dedicated
/renomark-programpage that displays a "RenoMark membership certificate for McCarty Squared Inc., valid for 2026" and links to renomark.ca/about-renomark/. Footer also shows LHBA, London Chamber, Net Zero Home, Houzz Pro. - Hunke Construction (Kitchener) — RenoMark logo in footer "Our Affiliations" area alongside WRHBA, BBB, Greater KW Chamber, Houzz "Best of Houzz." No year, no number, no link to renomark.ca.
- Slotegraaf Construction (Cambridge) — RenoMark in "Memberships" with Tarion, WRHBA, Guelph & District HBA.
- Schnarr Legacy Craftsmen (Waterloo, under new ownership) — Code of Conduct page references RenoMark with a 5-year workmanship warranty exceeding the 2-year minimum, but the company is no longer listed on the WRHBA RenoMark page (see WRHBA RenoMark: 16 verified renovators, mandatory for any WRHBA renovator-category member (verified 2026-05-24) anomaly note).
- Amsted Design-Build (Ottawa) — RenoMark in memberships with BBB A+, GuildQuality, GuildMaster. Multiple OHBA Ontario Renovator of the Year wins.
- Golden Bee Homes (Toronto) — BILD Renovator of the Year 2018, 2019, 2022.
- BRIKS Design Build Group (Toronto) — 2024 BILD Renovator of the Year.
- Team Shane Renovations (Hamilton/Ancaster) — 2025 BILD Renovator of the Year; RenoMark awards displayed prominently in the Awards section.
- RND Construction (Ottawa) — RenoMark with LEED, R-2000, Net Zero, EnergyStar, GOHBA.
- Lagois Design-Build-Renovate (Ottawa) — RenoMark with GOHBA, CHBA Net Zero, Adaptiv Home Specialist.
- Eurodale Developments + Design Build (Toronto) — Most aggressive RenoMark display in the sample. Dedicated microsite renomarkrenovator.net brands the firm explicitly as a RenoMark Renovator. 4× BILD Renovator of the Year.
- Inspire Homes (Caledon East) — RenoMark cited as part of CHBA/BILD membership.
The two clear best-practice exemplars
- McCarty Squared's dedicated certificate page with profile link. Highest-leverage implementation of the credential, almost nobody else does it.
- Eurodale's dedicated microsite at a separate domain. Aggressive but defensible if the firm is heavily RenoMark-positioned and competing for organic search on RenoMark-related queries.
The pattern most sites should adopt
See the rules cluster:
- Rule (renovator client sites): display RenoMark in the footer affiliations strip with equal visual weight to local HBA, BBB, HomeStars, Houzz — footer placement, equal weight with local HBA / BBB / HomeStars / Houzz
- Rule (renovator client sites): build a dedicated
/renomarkpage with the verbatim 10-point Code and the current-year certificate image — McCarty Squared model - Rule (renovator client sites): link the RenoMark logo to the contractor's renomark.ca profile AND show "RenoMark Verified 20YY" beside it — the highest-leverage tweaks almost nobody does — the highest-leverage gap almost no one closes
- Rule: never describe RenoMark as a "warranty program", "certification", "license", "regulator", or "guarantee" — use CHBA's own framing ("recognition program", "Code of Conduct", "Renovators' Mark of Excellence") — language discipline
