The three load-bearing numbers

The three numbers that do the work in published copy are: 2 years, $2 million, 2 business days. They are easy to remember, easy to verify, and the rest of the Code is mostly framework conditions. When writing renovator client copy, lead with those three.

No years-in-business minimum is imposed by the national Code. Some local HBAs add their own gates (Saskatoon's "Certified Professional RenoMark Renovator" tier layers on additional training and safety requirements). WRHBA, BILD GTA, and GOHBA do not publish a years-in-business minimum on top of the federal Code.
