Context for Candid renovator clients
RenoMark members represent a small but visible fraction of this $105.5B activity (the 1,200+ RenoMark national members out of ~8,500 CHBA total members — and CHBA itself represents only a slice of the total renovation contractor base). Most renovation activity still happens outside the program.
CHBA's own characterization of the underground economy is that it remains a substantial share of Ontario's renovation market — which is part of why CHBA launched the October 2025 "Renovate Right. Renovate Now. RenoMark." Renovation Month campaign. See CHBA "Renovate Right. Renovate Now. RenoMark." Renovation Month campaign — October 2025.
